
A small bronze mantel library clock having an eight day timepiece movement with chain fusee and anchor escapement. The 3 inch round painted dial has black Roman hour numerals, blued steel hands and is signed 'Purvis, 4, North Audley St. London, which is also scratched on the rear of the dial as instructions to the dial painter. The bezel is of cast gilded brass. The bronze case has a moulded base and top with small pillars to the corners.
Height: 7½ inches.
Alexander Purvis is recorded as working at 4, North Audley Street, Grosvenor Square, London from 1825 until 1844.
