Henri Jacot Corniche Cased Carriage Clock

An eight day Corniche cased carriage clock by Henri Jacot. The eight day movement strikes the hours and half hours on a gong with alarm, the backplate stamped with the serial number '7485' which is repeated to various parts of the case, with the dial plate and inside the back plate stamped with the secret oval tradmark of Henri Jacot. With the original platform lever escapement. The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals and the trademark inner circle, along with blued steel spade hands.


* Henri Jacot was one of the most well known and best maker's of carriage clocks in the Victorian period with an address at 31, Rue de Montmorency, Paris. The first Henri Jacot died in 1868 and was succeeded by his nephew also Henri. They won many medals at exhibitions in both Paris and London including the Gold medal in 1900.
